What is CrossFit?

Our classes and private coaching are based on the CrossFit methodolgy. We believe that CrossFit will get you in the best shape of your life! CrossFit is for ALL levels of fitness and ALL ages.  The program is universal for kids, teens, athletes, grandparents, and everyone in between.

CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means that a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenal fitness in and of themselves or as a compliment to your sport-specific training regime.

We specialize in not being specialist.  Being great in one of these categories but deficient in others does not mean you are fit.  We believe that being fit means that you are good at all 10 categories.  Marathon runners are thought to be fit.  But in reality they are just specialist.  Most marathon runners have little strength and power.  They may be able to run for long periods of time but it takes awa y from the other skills.  Our goal is to be sufficient in all 10 categories.  Traditionally you are either strong or fast.  CrossFit has developed athletes that can run 5 minute miles and deadlift over 500lbs.

General Physical Preparedness

CrossFit trains people to be prepared for the unknown and unknowable.  General physical preparedness means that we are trained to be prepared for anything.  We are training for life.  You might need to run after your kids, lift groceries, play sports, and perform any other physical acts during the day.  Everyday brings a different challenge and being Cross"Fit" is the best way to prepare.
